Burton S. Gray President and owner of the Company and has been with Town and Country Pools since graduating from Virginia Tech in 1986. His experience over the past twenty one years included the management of the sales department, the coordination between sales and construction, and the hiring and training of new salesmen. In October of 1998, Mr. Gray was appointed Vice President of Sales & Marketing, and on January 12, 2000, Mr. Gray became President and sole stockholder. Mr. Gray also served as President of the Mid Atlantic Chapter of NSPI (National Spa and Pool Institute) in 2004 and as a director of the Region II Council of NSPI from 2000 to 2004. Mr. Gray continues to be active in other national industry education programs.
Tracy C. Gardner is Vice President and General Manager, joining Town and Country Pools in January of 1989. He is a graduate of Brigham Young University with a degree in Accounting. Mr. Gardner has been in the swimming pool industry for 43 years functioning in a management capacity, which includes all phases of the business. He served as President of the Mid Atlantic Chapter of NSPI and as a director of the Region II Council of NSPI in 1997-1998.
Fred L. Flippin was the founder of the company in 1977 and continues to function in sales and consulting capacity. For a thirteen-year period, prior to 1977, Mr. Flippin held senior management positions with a national swimming pool contractor. It was during those years that he observed a need for a company that could provide quality construction with personalized service. Convinced he could accomplish this, he formed Town and Country Pools in the spring of 1977.
Mr. Flippin has served in many offices of the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of NSPI. These offices include President (two year term), Vice President and over the years a number of other offices. Mr. Flippin has also served on national committees for NSPI and in 1986 he was named Chairman for the National Convention, which was held here in Washington , DC . He is a past member of the Builders Council and former Chairman of the Design Awards Committee.
